ROSÉ: Life in Looks
[00:00:05] Hi Vogue, this is Rosé and this is my life and looks so far.
[00:00:11] Okay, this was my first Fashion Week out in New York. That's the first time I came out here, and I remember being so starstruck with the city and so mesmerized.
[00:00:26] I think I had never been to Fashion Week before that, so it was just... the whole experience was so much fun.
[00:00:32] And I was there with Jisoo, which was great because I was with my other member, and I remember being really, really excited to be there.
[00:00:40] So this was the first week out of the two weeks that we performed for Coachella.
[00:00:48] To be honest, this was my personal favorite, so I've always wanted to talk about this one.
[00:00:55] I remember when we did the fitting, I was so excited because I was like, "Oh my God, it seems so Coachella!" [00:01:00] We were surprised that they had even invited us to perform in the first place. We've never seen that happen before in history.
[00:01:07] And so I was definitely really, really worried, but seeing that many people dance and sing and vibe to our song, I will never be able to forget that moment.
[00:01:20] I think the outfit really helped because I felt confident in that one. Should I move on?
[00:01:24] This is my first album cover for On The Ground and Gone. This was the album shoot, and I had received the creative concept for it like a few days before.
[00:01:39] I remember looking at the album concept being really confused as to why they said something... it doesn't seem truthful to me.
[00:01:54] So I remember I called the photographer like two nights before and I was like, "This doesn't seem right." [00:01:59] And so it was like panic—everyone was panicking. I was like, "It just has to seem a little more personal." [00:02:08] I remember we ended up shooting at the set that they had built like a little home, and I brought my puppy Hank, and then we had this shot and we felt like it was perfect.
[00:02:20] This was during the video shoot of my first video On The Ground. It was so cold this day!
[00:02:30] I had to act like I was enjoying it, but it was so cold. It was quite an experience.
[00:02:40] I didn't actually get to meet any of the fans when my music was out back then. I got to meet them like way after COVID kind of ended.
[00:02:50] And I remember a lot of people saying these things, and I was like, "Wow, people really did like it." I was so happy people loved it.
[00:03:04] This was the first Vogue cover I did for Australia. It was like a big moment for me because I grew up in Australia.
[00:03:10] We'd go grocery shopping and there'd always be the magazine aisle, and I remember always looking at the magazine aisle being like, "Wow, these celebrities."
[00:03:20] So just to have myself be on the cover of Vogue Australia, that meant a lot to me.
[00:03:25] I remember back then, when I had left Australia, everyone was like, "Where are you going?"
[00:03:32] Maybe nowadays, if I'm becoming a trainee in Korea, they'd be like, "Oh my God, you're going to be K-pop!" Everybody knows what it is and it's so popular.
[00:03:40] But back then, it was like, "What are you doing?" It's fun to see how big K-pop has grown ever since then. [00:03:55] I'm still shocked to this day and to see so many other K-pop artists do so well.
[00:04:01] In June 2022, I was invited to be on the digital cover of Vogue that was guest edited by Baz Luhrmann. [00:04:08] Baz Luhrmann is a director that I have admired for years. I remember as a trainee, I loved Moulin Rouge!. I watched that so many times.
[00:04:18] Me even dreaming of becoming a singer and a performer, that movie had a lot to do with it.
[00:04:28] The fact that Baz Luhrmann had reached out to do this editorial, I was like, "Yes, please! I'm so excited."
[00:04:39] My first Met! This was a crazy moment. I'd grown up seeing people go to the Met, and it was such a Hollywood thing.
[00:05:00] Rihanna and ASAP Rocky—I saw them inside. But it's not just "I saw them," these people come and they ask me...
[00:05:07] They were like, "Rosie, we need to take일부 short form videos and pictures," and then suddenly somebody comes to me and they're like, "Rosie, we're so sorry, can you just wait like 10 minutes because we need to shoot Rihanna?"
[00:05:20] And I was like, "Of course! Please, take all the time you need."
[00:05:32] I'm just sitting behind the camera watching this all happen and I was like, "What is happening? Am I even allowed to be here?"
[00:05:40] The security was like, "Are you a fan?" I'm like, "Who isn't?"
[00:05:45] He was like, "Do you want me to try to get her to, you know... do you want to say hi?" And I was like, "Not at all! Don't you dare!"
[00:05:52] And then surprisingly, she doesn't go straight to the door. She comes around the camera walking past me. [00:06:08] She literally turns around, grabs both my hands like this, and she's like, "I know you! You guys are doing so well. Keep up the good job!"
[00:06:22] And she gave me like the biggest hug. I didn't know what to say. I was like, "Thank you so much!"
[00:06:51] Back then, I was still shocked. I was like, "Why is there paparazzi? I'm nobody." [00:06:56] I'd love to someday live here for a few weeks. I think it'd be so much fun if I could ever do that.
[00:07:05] So this was LA, the LA show. That top wouldn't stay up, and so I was like, "How about we use a shoelace... and then tie it back up?"
[00:07:23] Tour was long, but it was a lot of fun for sure. We'd always make sure that everyone's outfits sit well together.
[00:07:30] We all have such different styles and wants and needs, and so we try to balance it out.
[00:07:35] This is headlining Coachella. It is insane if I think about it, that they invited us to headline it. [00:07:44] But also, Blackpink works so hard, so I'm really proud of us.
[00:07:53] When we were setting up the stage, we wanted something that stood out and something that obviously represented our culture.
[00:08:14] I don't know if I should say that I didn't love my hair color. I wish my hair was a bit more blonde then. [00:08:31] This was when we were invited to the Buckingham Palace.
[00:08:45] I remember we laughed so much in the car. We're like, "This is crazy!" But we were really glad that we had each other.
[00:08:58] I remember saying to the girls, "I want... I wish every event was like this. I want to go to every single one of my events with you girls."
[00:09:12] I have the funniest backstory to this one as well.
[00:09:16] Next time I go to this party, I am definitely going to ask who is attending.
[00:09:27] I get to the door, nobody's allowed to go in, it's just me. And then they kind of left me in this huge room full of celebrities.
[00:09:36] I do not know anyone here and I'm walking towards the crowd getting social anxiety.
[00:09:47] I just prayed and prayed that somebody that I knew would walk by. They didn't.
[00:09:56] And so I ran and hid behind this plant. I see famous people looking at me being like, "Oh, poor girl." [00:10:05] I'm like, "Please just don't look, I'm fine!"
[00:10:20] It was the worst 20 minutes of my entire life, but I survived it.
[00:10:32] At the after party, we're like, "Okay, we made it. We're here alive."
[00:11:10] All moments with all four of us, the whole group... it's always the best moments.
[00:11:24] I like when we get together nowadays because I feel like we've grown up.
[00:11:33] When we come together, we bond so much. These three are the only people who really understand what kind of journey I've been through.
[00:11:50] Yes, we definitely have a group chat. Everyone chimes in.
[00:12:10] Jisoo, she's the unnie, which is the oldest in the group. She takes care of us.
[00:12:35] It is an album that kind of describes me in a bit more detail.
[00:12:48] I hope anyone who listens to this album would feel that much closer to me.
[00:13:28] Lisa was like, "I want to hear a full album in your voice."
[00:13:38] Usually, we're a group, but this is just from start to finish—me.
[00:14:01] It's just like a representation of what this album is. They're all me.
